Zachary David Fox

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, Zachary David Fox, who passed away on July 29, 2026, at the age of 53.
To know Zach was to know a man who loved deeply and lived fully.
If you asked Zach what mattered most in life, his answer was simple: the five "F's"-Family, Friends, Faith, Food, and Fun. Those weren't just words to him; they were the principles by which he lived every day.
Above all else, Zach loved his wife, Angie. She was the love of his life, his best friend, and his greatest adventure. Together they built a life centered on laughter, unwavering support, family traditions, and dreams for the future. They loved traveling together, sharing incredible meals, cheering on Boise State football, enjoying great wine, and creating memories with the people they loved most. Their marriage was a partnership rooted in deep friendship, respect, and unconditional love.
Zach was incredibly proud of his children-Elli, Jacob, Katala, and Jalen-and treasured every opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments and encourage their dreams. Becoming "Papa" to his grandson, Luke, brought him a special kind of joy, and he eagerly anticipated meeting his granddaughter, Shea, who is expected to arrive later this year.
He had an extraordinary ability to make people feel welcome. His infectious laugh could fill a room, his smile put others at ease, and his genuine interest in people made strangers become lifelong friends. Whether hosting a backyard gathering, planning a vacation, enjoying a round of golf, snowboarding in the mountains, or simply sharing a meal, Zach believed life's greatest moments were the ones spent together.
One of Zach's greatest gifts was simply showing up. If someone needed encouragement, advice, a helping hand, or just someone to listen, Zach was there without hesitation. He gave freely of his time, his generosity, and his heart. He celebrated the successes of others as enthusiastically as his own and quietly carried the burdens of those he loved.
Professionally, Zach dedicated more than two decades to DrFirst, where he served as Executive Vice President. Following his graduation from Westmont High School in Campbell, California, he attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara and later completed the Advanced Business Program at Harvard Business School. During his career, Zach helped transform DrFirst into the nation's leader in e-prescribing technology, leading innovative healthcare initiatives that have improved the lives of millions of patients. He eared the respect of colleagues throughout the healthcare industry, not only because of his vision and leadership, but because of the integrity, humility, and kindness with which he led.
Yet despite his professional accomplishments, work was never what defined him. His greatest joy was the life he built with those he loved. He often spoke of retiring early not to Slow down, but to spend even more time traveling with Angie, spoiling his grandchildren, enjoying long dinners with family and friends, and making memories with the people who meant everything.
Zach is survived by his beloved wife, Angie; his daughter, Elli (husband Jordan); his son, Jacob (girlfriend Taylor); his stepdaughter, Katala (fiancé Jackson); and his stepson, Jalen. He is also survived by his cherished grandson, Luke, and his soon-to-arrive granddaughter, Shea.
He is survived by his parents, Edwin Fox and Cathleen Scott; his stepmother, Karen (married to Ed), who played a meaningful and loving role in his upbringing; his aunts, Carol Fox and Denise Toohey (husband Phil); his sisters, Cassandre Pozas (husband Bryant) and Nichole Stephen (husband Craig); his nieces and nephews-Kane, Grayson, Lisette Lark, Sophia, Olivia, Alexander, and Lilly-and countless extended family members, friends, and colleagues whose lives are richer because they knew him.
He is also lovingly remembered by his in-laws, Susana and Thomas Dunbrasky; his sister-in-law Natalie Delacruz; his brother-in-law James Delacruz; and his brother-in-law Nicholas Dunbrasky, along with their families, all of whom were an important part of his life and deeply loved by him.
He is also lovingly remembered by his stepfather, Dennis, who was married to his mother, Cathleen Scott, and who passed away just two days before Zach. Their lives are now forever linked in memory.
Although our hearts are shattered by his sudden passing, Zach's legacy lives on in every act of kindness he inspired, every friendship he nurtured, every life he touched, and every person who was fortunate enough to be loved by him.
His love will remain with us always.
